The engine oil pan also called engine oil sump is attached to the bottom of the engine with bolts gasket and is the reservoir for oil that gets pumped throughout the engine to lubricate, clean and cool moving parts, Acts as a reservoir for your engine motor oil.
The transmission oil pan keeps your transmission fluid safe and reliable. When you turn off the vehicle, the oil pan can be used as a sump.
Raw material:High quality materials steel (DC04,Dc06,SPCC…) cold rolled steel plate

The most popular engine oil pan was produce by the stamping drawing ,we had about 30 set of stamping press cover from 30T to 2100T,those hydraulic pressure stamping machine can made the engine oil pan for auto to heavy duty truck engine oil sump from front oil sump to rear oil sump,the baffle and the other engine part bracket also produce in this workshop.

Inspection workshop before shipment
Flatness of flange surface inspection,the place where oil pan attach to the gasket or engine block was the key parameter for free oil leaking ,we control that within 0.1mm within 250mm long
1.put the oil pan on the inspection platform
2.use the feeling tape to check if the tape go inside the pan
3.the Flatness control within 0.1mm among 250mm length
4.Every oil pan need go though inspection before shipment
3D Laser cutting workshop
When we development the new oil pan as a project ,to short the leadtime for full mold tooling production ,we use the laser cutting insted to take off the extra raw material from the oil pan .
It was also very useful for small batch of producton .
OIl pan leaking inspection workshop
Oil pan leaking test,it was a necessary inspection process for the oil pan production .Below was how we carry out the inspection according to the WI work instruction.
1.Under the air gas by 1.5 Bar
2.30 second under the water
3.Without boble was coming out of the pan area
4.All pan was seal by pad ,it was simulation by the install oil pan on engine

Project management :
when we get the engine oil pan from the customer ,the first thing to do was the 3D of the oil pan creating ,to build the drawing for the mold and tooling ,fixture

We thought the customer think ,we make the oil dipstick tube on the oil pan ,so what the OEM customer need was just push the oil disptick inside the dipstick guide on the oil pan
Baffle also welding inside the oil pan ,Oil pan baffles also have the added benefit of preventing oil splashing around the chamber that causes oil foaming that might result in vapour residue, which the oil pickup might pipe instead of lifesaving oil.
Go/No go Gauge fiture for oil pan check by the CMM
Gauge was the tooling to inspection the engine oil pan whether it fit the customer drawing requirement ,we cant inspection each oil pan shape by the scanning or CMM machine ,so the best way to figure whether the oil pan shape was ok was inspect by the gauge tooling.
Raw material inspection
Raw material inspection :mechanical properties of specimens tensile test,we take a small piece from each package of the coil steel ,once the coil steel meet the requirement ,we will put it into the mass production .
Drain plug seat welding on the oil pan
The drain plug seat was the engine oil pan drain the oil hole,it should stand over 80 N·m +,when we maintain the engine to change the oil ,the torque was at 60 N·m,So we increase the strength it by spot welding .
The bolt holes of engine oil pan was under inspection ,it was **** go though the inspection process ,otherwise there was a leaking for the unfit oil pan bolt hole will cause the defect .
Decoiling of the raw material
The raw material from the steel factory was by coil steel ,we should decoil the raw material and make it into steel sheet ,so it can move to the next production for Engine deep drawing
Power coating workshop
The engine oil pan will go though power coating after the leaking test
Mold tooling die design after after APQP team set up
The mold or the dies was the key to the engine oil sump stamping production,before we do the simulation for the stamping ,we will build the drawing mold for engine oil pan ,normally we use the CAE,UG ,SOLIDWORK to completed the job.
Stamping simulation before mold kick of production
Simulation was very import before the mold kick off ,although we had a lot of experience for the oil pan stamping deep drawing however we need to **** sure if the pan can be work out also it can short the leadtime for the engine oil sump develpment
